Two instructors and/or two learners may be registered for a driving instruction permit. This requires for the instructor(s) and learner(s) to be close relatives (parent, guardian, grandparent, child, grandchild or sibling).

A parking card for people with disabilities is person-specific. Granting of a parking card permit is subject to a medical opinion in support of the application. The permit may be used for a vehicle which the permit holder drives, or in which the permit holder is a passenger. Parking permits for disabled persons are valid in all member states of the European Union. When applying for a disabled parking permit, it is possible to apply at the same time for an exemption from basic vehicle tax.

Please note that obtaining a taxi driver's licence requires that the applicant pass an approved taxi driver's test. Reservations for these exams can only be made through the telephone service of the Ajovarma licence and permit processing service. 029 534 5115.

Under the legislation that applies to the driving of trucks and buses, a professional competence licence is required. Professional competence licences are required for passenger transport as of 10 September 2008 and for freight transport as of 10 September 2009.

Select a licence application if any of the following apply:
- Change in special conditions
- A duplicate for a lost, stolen or destroyed licence
- Change of name or change of personal identification code
- Downgrading of driving rights
- Re-entry into force of a previous driving licence
- Controlled driving rights
- Features no longer identifiable from the photograph on current driving licence

Select a driving licence application if:
- you are applying for your first driving licence
- you want a new driving licence category, i.e. to upgrade your driving rights,
- you want to renew your driving licence at the end of its period of validity. You can downgrade your driving rights at the same time.

When applying for a replacement taxi driver's licence, you also need to submit a passport photo. As a rule, if you have provided a photograph for a driving licence in or after 2013, or if your facial image and signature are stored in the passport Image register, a new photo will not be required.

A digital tachograph is mandatory for vehicles registered for the first time after 1 May 2016:
- For the transportation of goods, vehicles with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes, including a trailer or semi-trailer
- For passenger vehicles that have been permanently designed for the transportation of more than 9 persons, including the driver
